Editorial history

Joint editorial office of "Postda", "Na postu" newspapers and "Kalkan" and "shchit" magazines

On the initiative of the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, when it was decided to restore the newspapers "Postda" and "Na postu", on January 1, 1991, the first number of publications published separately in two languages reached the employees of the internal affairs bodies and the general public. Especially after the independence of our country, a number of positive works were carried out in the MIA publications regarding the material and technical provision of the internal affairs bodies, full coverage of the reforms and changes being implemented.

Newspapers, which initially consisted of four pages, were published three times a week. After the material and technical base of the editorial office was strengthened, the number of pages was increased to eight, and later it was published on 16 pages.

In March 1998, by the appropriate order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Joint Editorial Board of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic was established on the basis of the editorial offices of the "Postda" and "Na postu" newspapers. In September of the same year, the publication of "Shield" and "Shchit" magazines was launched.

Outside pages of newspapers and magazines began to be printed in full color. The quality of the materials provided in newspapers and magazines has been improved, the content has been expanded, attention has been paid to the preparation of articles separately for each edition, so that they do not exactly repeat each other, the design has been brought up to the level that meets the requirements of the time.

In the magazines "Shield" and "Shchit", special attention was paid to the hard service of the employees of the internal affairs agencies, analytical coverage of the reforms implemented in the field, materials dedicated to the activities of the systems of the internal affairs agencies of foreign countries, court essays, and examples of the creativity of the employees of the internal affairs agencies with artistic talent.

A number of books have also been published by the editorial team. Among them are the "Trap" and "Buzgun" collections of short stories, stories, court essays and poems published in newspapers and magazines in the "Library of the Ministry of Internal Affairs" series, the "Heroes Live" collection dedicated to the employees of the internal affairs agencies who died in the line of duty, and the two-volume series of foreign detectives published in Russian.

At the moment, the total number of "Postda" and "Na postu" newspapers has exceeded 70 thousand, and the total number of "Kalkan" and "shchit" magazines has exceeded 20 thousand.

Changes in newspapers and magazines are being welcomed by customers. The editorial creative team, experienced journalists and employees are using all their knowledge and experience to fulfill the tasks set before them. MIA publications are working with all their strength and capabilities in order to make them more qualitative and meaningful.
