On the occasion of the International Women's Day in the field of science, an event was held at the MIA Academy on the topic "Science and women: towards a stable society".

Speaking at the event, the member of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Malika Kadirkhanova, emphasized that at the current stage of the development of our country, the issue of women has become one of the priorities of the state policy, the place of women in the life of the state and society, the wide opportunities created for them, and the achievements of educated, active and enterprising women.  

 In particular, it was noted that by today, the share of women in state administration has reached 35 percent, in the field of entrepreneurship, 45 percent, and in the ranks of political parties, 49 percent. 38% of the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and 27% of the members of the Senate are women. In the following years, the percentage of women working as ministers and minister-equivalent positions has increased by almost 3 times. In addition, over the past 7 years, 5,200 women have received Doctor of Science (DSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in their fields.

Consistent reforms aimed at supporting women, protecting their rights and interests, increasing their scientific and intellectual potential, strengthening the family institution, ensuring gender equality, and protecting women from oppression and violence were recognized at the event held in the spirit of open dialogue.

At the event, women working effectively in the judicial system, law-making, education and other fields spoke and shared their opinions, their activities for the further development of our country, and their plans for the future.
