The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the National Guard adopted a joint decision defining the procedure for using service dogs in order to prevent the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in public places - in particular, in avenues, parks and markets. This is reported by the press service of Tashkent city administration.
In accordance with this decision, at first, patrol teams with service dogs began to operate in public places located in the cities of Tashkent and Nukus and in the centers of regions on a trial basis.
Currently, employees of the Canine Department of the Tashkent City Internal Affairs Department are working in the "Tashkent City Mall" shopping complex, "City Park", "Dream Park" and "Magic City" entertainment centers.
The assistance of service dogs is used in the prevention of crimes, in particular, in eliminating cases of attacks on citizens or employees, in identifying and catching persons hiding after committing a crime, as well as in situations where there is a possibility that the arrested persons will try to escape or harm others.
In accordance with the decision, the duration of service of animals should not exceed 4 hours when the weather temperature is above +30°C or below +1°C. If necessary, it is also planned to install small special aviaries for service dogs.
